Client Overview

Rain Therapeutics is a team of bold, revolutionary, outside-of-the-box thinkers dedicated to helping patients live fuller lives through precision oncology. I worked with the Management team and Lead Scientists at Rain to define their brand identity via the cornerstones of their business: their personality, science, and impact on cancer patients.

My Role in the Project

I independently led and executed the end-to-end process of Rain Therapeutic’s rebrand. From project management to spearheading content strategy to creating scientific visuals, and developing their brand. I aimed to bring out the best of Rain for the world to see.

Design and Strategy

The brand leverages their three core elements: patient impact, personality, and science. The photography has a strong emphasis on happy patients living their lives to the fullest throughout their brand. To emphasize their out-of-the-box thinking, the photographic subjects literally break out of their box. Hand-drawn elements add a human touch to the designs. Crisp vector elements capture scientific precision.

The Color of Rain

The color palette was built from the two Rain logo colors: sky blue and grey. Their palette was designed to be bold but not jarring. The primary colors are greys and vibrant blues that blend to make striking gradients that add movement to solid areas. The secondary colors are even more vibrant and saturated but are used in small areas to draw your attention.

Scientific Animation

Rain had two very complex science stories to tell for both of their programs, with a lot of dense information. Data visualization is my favorite part of working with biotechs. Being able to take lots of dense scientific data, processes, and definitions and turn it into an easily digestible story for patients and investors is incredibly fun. It's like solving a puzzle that leaves a positive impact on the world. Rain's story was best told through animation and interactive infographics.
