Client Overview

Ventus is a Boston and Montreal based biotech. They use computer models to predict which drugs could be used to interfere with proteins to cure diseases. Their main offering is their ability to compute difficult calculations in the fluid environment of a protein. The goal of this rebranding was to tell the story of their scientific breakthrough throughout their brand.

My Role in the Project

My role in this rebrand was that of art direction and graphic design. I worked directly for The Yates Network, a strategic communications and public relations group for biotech companies, and SAC Designs, an animation and design agency.

Exploring their Story

I worked directly with the president of The Yates Network, the CEO of Ventus Therapeutics, and their scientific team to bring Ventus into their next phase as a leading biotech company. Ventus set itself apart from other biotech leaders through their ability to efficiently solve complex calculations in computational fluid dynamics. Before now, making accurate predictions in fluid environments has been particularly difficult because of the typically unpredictable nature of fluids. Their capabilities allow scientists to make better and more accurate predictions than ever before. It is “The Power of Resolution” that sets them appart.

Fluidity and Computation

"The Power of Resolution" comes down to the two key elements of Ventus' success: fluidity and computation. These two key elements drove the visuals for their rebrand. The pervasive presence of water in the protein environment is expressed abstractly through large fluid shapes. The 'computation' side of their platform takes form as sci-fi and future-retro inspired UI elements as typography and background details.
